About the event
Dennis Stroughmatt is a master fiddler and storyteller who takes audiences on a high-energy journey through the rich, hidden world of Upper Louisiana Creole culture. Trained by Creole fiddlers Roy Boyer and Charlie Pashia, Dennis carries forward a tradition that blends Celtic, Canadian, Cajun, and Old-Time sounds—music preserved for centuries in the Missouri Ozarks. With his band, l’Esprit Creole, he shares not only music but the language, history, and heart of a people too often overlooked. Their performances are a soul-stirring reminder that this culture is not lost—it’s alive, powerful, and here to stay: “On est toujours icitte!”
